United Airlines said July 13 that it has signed an agreementto acquire 100 of Sweedish start-up Heart Aerospace's19-seat electric airliners that have the potential to decarbonizeregional air travel.Heart Aerospace aims to be the first to build electric aircraftfor commercial passenger service. Its 19-seat aircraft,the ES-19, is driven entirely by electric motors and batteriesand is expected to have a range of approximately 250 miles.Based in Goteborg, Sweden, Heart Aerospace anticipates deliveringthe first ES-19 for commercial use by 2026.
