On Dec. 14, 2021, Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee Rep. RickLarsen (D-WA) introduced legislation that would require the Secretary of Transportationto create a pilot program providing grants to support the planning and developmentof infrastructure to support Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations,such as public-use vertiports needed for air taxis to operate in urban environments.The Advanced Aviation Infrastructure Modernization Act (H.R. 6270) was cosponsoredby Ranking Aviation Subcommittee Member Garret Graves (R-LA) andRep. Dina Titus (D-NV) so it has a good change of passage. It will likely pick upadditional co-sponsors this winter.
