It almost doesn't seem possible, but next month marks the beginning of my fifth year at the helm of WINGS & AIRPOWER Magazine. More significantly, 2006 will be the 35th year of continuous publication for these two titles - a milestone event for an independently-published aviation history magazine. Inaugurated in August and September of 1971, WINGS & AIRPOWER were the brainchild of writer and historian Joe Mizrahi, who envisioned a new magazine created for serious aviation enthusiasts, modelers, and devotees who considered airplanes as something very special in their lives.
