Great article on Golden West in the October 2012 issue. As stated correctly by the author, Golden West did have a 1981 letter of intent to purchase three DHC-8s. These were converted to firm orders with delivery in 1983 and 1984. Obviously, with the demise of the airline in April 1983, the DHC-8 never saw Golden West colors, although in anticipation Golden West had some advertisements showing the new aircraft.
