My first ever flight was in a Sud Aviation Caravelle, in 1973, travelling to a family vacation on the popular Mediterranean island of Mallorca. I was only two years old, so I have no memories of that experience. But I do remember my second trip south to Spain, two years later, when my family flew to the same island, again on an LTU Caravelle. While the vacation itself is a bit hazy in my mind, I recall those large triangular windows of the French twin-jet, through which-for the first time in my life-I gained an appreciation of the sights and sensation of flight.
