Pilots show up for an airline interview with several thousands of flight hours and many years of experience. The hiring process, designed to weed out hundreds of applicants for any reason that could be thought of, is intense and everyone knows it. Most candidates have flown for a few smaller companies and have been through the interview ringer enough to know the ropes. Entire businesses have been built around helping pilots find jobs. Although it isn't what it used to be, there is still quite a bit of interest at the entry level. Once reality sets in with the new-hire, however, the glamour quickly fades. Flight attendants on the other hand...well, actually I didn't have any idea, so I asked a few of them.
