Gordon Reid took a day trip from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas, in 1972, and was allowed to roam the ramp of Windsor Field, Out Islands Airways operated a mixed fleet, including Fairchild FH-227s (pictured is N379NE, leased from Northeast Airlines), a DHC-6 Twin Otter, and two Commander 500S twins. In June 1973, the Bahamian government merged OIA with another local company, Flamingo Airlines, to create Bahamasair.
