Over the past decade, the short-haul airline industry has been revolutionized by the low-cost carrier (LCC) phenomenon and its impact on travel patterns. Meanwhile, however, market differentiation has also put emphasis on the other end of the market scale, where a sophisticated clientele is willing to pay a premium for the best available product in order to fly with style. A Swiss-based company, PrivatAir, is one example of this alternative approach to the low-fares/ no-rrills genre.
