Airline pilots tend to be an unemotional bunch. So it was enlightening to be at the listening end of a dialog in Denver recently: ''My father was a United Airlines captain, and he had me in the right seat of his Stinson before I could even walk. There was never much thought that I would have any career other than flying. I can only remember my dad having tears in his eyes two or three times in his life, and one of those was the day I first put on the uniform as a United Airlines pilot and followed him into the profession."
