摘要

The principal objective within the European research project VIR[FAB] (VIRtual FAB-rication of aluminium) [1] is the generation of a TPM (Through Process Model) and its validation on industrial processing routes. Such a TPM must not be understood as a single computer model covering all aspects of aluminium processing but it is a set of sub-models that are coupled on various levels. One of the major outcomes of VIR[FAB] was the establishment of interfaces between previously existing models that enable the transfer of data between codes that run independently, the coupling of models where a full integration is required as well as representative computations of industrial trials to evaluate the accuracy with which final properties can be predicted.
