The introduction of the energy-saving directive in Germany - EnEV for short - has broadened the scope of energy-related considerations. As explained by market leader Schueco, the focus of attention has shifted from the shell of buildings to their structure as a whole. This multiplies the number of influencing factors but also provides many more opportunities for optimisation. In any event, effort and expenditure on planning and consultancy must inevitable increase.
