Whether with the Mercedes S-Class, the Audi A8 or the BMW 7 series, German luxury cars have always made their mark all over the world. With the "Phaeton", assembled in the glazed factory in Dresden, Volkswagen is now also joining that group. In contrast to the Audi A8, the Phaeton has a fully galvanised steel body. All the vehicle's components are designed for its top speed of 300 km/h. But besides high-strength steels, in the Phaeton, which weighs two tonnes, VW is of course also using lightweight materials for the chassis and body.
