摘要

An electrochemical technique was used to investigate the relationship between oxygen concentration in a beverage solution and the pitting attack of aluminium-magnesium alloy 5182, which is used as a can-end material in Japan. The gradient of the alloy specimen's anodic polarization behaviour was measured by increasing the cathodic area gal-vanically coupled to the aluminium alloy (the area polarization technique) in a beverage solution environment, in which dissolved oxygen concentration was continuously changed from 10 ppb to 600 ppb. It was found that pitting attack took place at concentrations higher than 40 ppb.
