The Extrude Hone die finishing process provides critical fundamental benefits to manufacturers and users of aluminum extrusion that have made it an indispensable tool to technologically advanced companies in this field. Recent advances in both equipment controls and Extrude Hone abrasive media have enhanced those benefits as well as the ease of use of the process. Among the advantages: 1. Minimum change to bearing geometry and "correction" minimizing unproductive press time; 2. Minimum and highly uniform removal of material from bearing surfaces extending die life; 3. Fine directional finish/lay enhances extrusion rate, optimizing press output and extrusion quality; 4. Automatic operation minimizing attention from the most skilled personnel.
