Already in the initial years the hydraulic crane grab was a special equipment, which allowed to lift the strands off the casting pit and to lay down safely and in good order. Safety has always received a high priority, in comparison with the cables string, the chain or the choke ring the hydraulic grab provides a positive grip at any time (fig. 1).
