The Austrian aluminium specialist Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) is to take a 100% participating interest in the German Lean Extrusions GmbH, headquartered in Singen on Lake Constance. Last year this aluminium plant had already produced high-gloss aluminium parts for HAI as a 50% joint venture partner. "We aim to develop the plant into a small and efficient specialist for precision profiles, high-gloss and decorative parts that we can ideally offer together with our products as a complete package to the automotive industry," said Rob van Gils, CEO of the HAI Group. The takeover was by mutual agreement with the former co-owners, Alumero. HAI Lean Extrusions in Singen in the South of Germany has around 25 employees. The structures and processes will be fully integrated into Hammerer Aluminium Industries, which has around 1,000 employees.
