It looks like China's market regulator may have in May at least partly succeeded in taking much of the froth off the surging commodities markets. This might be true for iron ore, for which prices have surged up to 50 percent this year, recovering from a record low in 2015. But the message has obviously until now not filtered down to the bulk of Chinese retail traders.
