Since our last major report on the Italian extrusion press equipment supplier Omav in October 2011 the globally active family-owned company has managed to stay on course for growth. A contribution to this was also its co-operation with SMS Meer in the production of SMS extrusion presses for billets with diameters up to 10" (32/35 MN press load), which allows Omav to offer complete extrusion plants. Equally important for the company's continuing success in its traditional markets of mainly North America, the Middle East and also China is its continual further technological development of standard components in the environment of the press, from log storage to the packing of profiles.
