Elster Kromschroder is filling a gap in the series of 'Ecomax' ceramic self recuperative burners. The new 4C type has a burner capacity of 180 kW. To date, the ceramic version of Ecomax was available with a capacity range of up to 100 kW or as 5C type with a capacity of 250 kW. With its SiSiC recuperator, the 4C type is suitable for directly heated heat treatment processes in which metallic self recuperative burners either cannot be used or can only be used on a restricted basis. Since the self recuperative burner utilises the heat of the furnace flue gases to preheat the combustion air, as do all members of the Ecomax series, it significantly lowers the gas consumption: energy savings of up to 30 percent can be made, depending on burner model and mode of operation. The systems' efficiency is thus increased considerably.
