This overview covers the activities in Asia and Europe. Part I was published in ALUMINIUM 4/2009 covering the regions Africa, America and Middle East.rnASIArnChina: Guangxi Huayin Aluminium Corp., the 1.6m tpy alumina project backed by Aluminium Corp. of China (Chalco) and China Minmetals Corp., started trial production at the first phase of the 8.5bn yuan (USDl.2bn) project in December 2007. Guangxi Huayin, 33% owned by Chinalco, started full operations at a 1.6m tpy alumina refinery in June 2008.
