Despite the severe economic downturn and drastically reduced metal prices, German aluminium producer Trimet ended the business year 2008/09 (1 March to 30 June) in profit. Its operative result amounted to 12.8 million euros, although as a result of lower aluminium prices and production cuts throughout the company turnover fell by about a quarter to 827.0 million euros. "We have coped well with the crisis", says Supervisory Board Chairman Heinz-Peter Schluter, referring to the difficult business year.
