摘要

The amount of solute elements in aluminium alloys can be assessed from measurements of the thermoelectric power (TEP). Under the assumption that the specific TEP signals of individual alloy elements in aluminium depend on temperature in different ways, TEP values obtained at various temperatures can provide a number of independent measurements for the analysis of solute levels in multi-component alloys. This paper describes an advanced setup to characterise solute levels in commercial aluminium alloys by combining measurements of the electrical resistivity with TEP measurements at a number of sub-ambient temperatures.
