In 2003 Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC), the American subsidiary of Alu Menziken Aerospace in Switzerland, decided to extend its production capabilities for high-strength aircraft sections. The core of the investment programme is an extrusion machine for large sections of high-strength alloys. The press - the largest in America today - began operating at the Canton works in Georgia (near Atlanta) in January 2005.%Im Jahre 2003 entschloss sich Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC), amerikanische Tochter der schweizerischen Alu Menzi-ken Aerospace, die Produktionsmöglichkeiten für hochfeste Luft-fahrtprofile auszubauen.
