We are pleased to introduce our new editorial board for 2011-2012. The board members play an important role in helping develop the focus and direction of ACD's editorial content. They suggest potential stories to cover, tutorials to develop and sugar artists to connect with. They also review every issue, offering their critiques on how to improve the ACD experience for readers. Dalila Cabrita de Pena has been a high school teacher for more than 22 years and has worked with cakes for eight years, nearly five years of that time teaching sugar modeling and different sugar techniques in cities in Venezuela, Panama, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Florida and Spain. As an ICES member and Venezuela * ICES representative (2010-12) and ICES demonstrator, she has developed her own modeling paste recipe and techniques. Dalila won two Gold Medals in the Cake International 2010, ICHF, in Birmingham, U.K., in the classes of International and Venetian Pastillage Mask. Her cakes have been published in the British magazine Wedding Cakes a Design Source on six different occasions. Her own cake decorating magazine, Variedades Dalila TORTAS, features step-by-step instruction.
