Speed, accessibility, long reach and high capacity booms. That's what sets a truck crane apart from other cranes that have been pinching their market share over the last 30 years. Boom trucks completely wiped out truck cranes in the 20- to 40-ton market and have started to challenge in the 50- to 60-ton market. All terrain cranes have the lifting capacity, and more, but are difficult to mobilize and often require two or three overflow loads to transport them. Truck cranes are hardly niche equipment, but they fill a special need, and as a result drive innovation. A big part of what makes a truck crane special is the ability to travel at highway speeds and their quick mobilization/ demobilization.
