International heavy lift and transport specialist Mammoet has tested one of its three new PTC DS super heavy lift cranes with a load of 3,520 tons at a 108-foot (33 meter) radius. For the test, the crane was rigged with 272 feet (83 meter) of main boom and a 118-foot (36 meter) jib. The maximum design load on the jib is 2,900 tons, which sets a world record among cranes with jibs and sheerlegs, Mammoet said.
