As March drew to a close, the Dow was threatening the 11,000-point barrier for the first time since the end of September 2008, and many stocks were trading at 12-month highs.The driver for these gains was a string of up-beat economic news stories, most notably employment data that showed job creation in the US running at its highest rate for three years.
