1. At Fitch Solutions Industry Research we have revised down our 2020 growth forecasts for several major industries, including Consumer & Retail, Autos, Construction, Power, Oil & Gas (upstream and downstream), Infrastructure and Mining. 2. We have made upward revisions to our forecasts for Healthcare, Household Food Spending and Cloud Computing. 3. The forecast revisions are broad based and spread through Emerging and Developed Markets. Asia, Europe and North America are the regions were most of our forecast changes have taken place, though an ongoing revision of our assessment means we expect to intervene in more markets as the Covid-19 pandemic spreads and disrupts economies and industries further. All industries and sectors of the economy worldwide will be impacted by the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. Asia, Europe and North America are currently experiencing the greatest impact, but, more markets and regions will be affected as the coronavirus continues to spread. Our impact assessment of the coronavirus on industries takes into account fluctuating economic activity, disruption to supply chains and shifting consumer demand. Analysis of the impact of coronavirus requires constant monitoring and so our forecasts are assessments at the time of writing and so have the potential to be adjusted as new data and updates are made available. We take our guidance from combining our Country Risk macroeconomic forecasts and the information and data we source from companies and industries on a daily basis to synthesise our best estimate for how different industries in different markets will be impacted.
