Network outsourcing by telecom operators is bound to spread, as it can generate 15 to 30 percent reductions in costs while presenting relatively manageable challenges.rnYet there are risks. That is why operators should weigh the tradeoffs relative to alternative means of saving money and achieving economies of scale such as network sharing, internal improvement efforts, and non-traditional outsourcing.
