As the technical complexity of the digital home increases, consumer electronics companies and service providers must increase their capacity for both reactive and proactive customer support. A combination of effective design and use of interoperable technologies will go a long way toward helping consumers use their digital home services more effectively. At the same time, companies will need to rethink their business models, enabling them to implement and then manage digital home services on behalf of their customers.
