Technology is advancing at a pace never before seen in the history of civilization. One of the main factors of this advancement is the continued miniaturization of integrated circuit (IC) technology. This is enabling the integration of different technologies at the chip level, which is, in turn, enabling the integration of different technologies at the board level and, more important, at the user level in terms of service and feature functionality. This research paper will explore the advancement of miniaturization and its impact on wireless device functionality. It will focus on the integration of camera phone technology with wireless device technology, specifically cellular phone technology. The impact of these technologies on individual privacy will also be discussed. Lastly, this research paper will explore how technology might solve some of the privacy problems it creates.
