摘要

Today, both services and networks are more and more Internet protocol (IP)-based. Considering such issues as the development trend of metropolitan-area networks (MAN), service capacity, transmission distance, and performance-to-price ratio, gigabit Ethernet (GE) has become the mainstream interface for metropolitan broadband data network interworking. In face of the mass GE interworking, it becomes more and more important to create a solution to transmission and build a manageable, operational, low-cost, and quality of service (QoS) guaranteed carrier-class metropolitan network.
