Choosing the right VoD architecture remains one of the core decisions for operators before deploying a VoD solution. Starting off with a centralized solution and switching to a distributed solution once the service has grown beyond a certain number of subscribers is a sensible approach to building a network. However, it is of paramount importance that the operator chooses a server vendor able to provide appropriate server network management solutions and configurations to provide for an easy upgrade path and ensure maximum performance with minimum disruptions.
