I HELD A SMALL CARDBOARD BOX. Inside was a name-plate, a notebook, and a few odds and ends for my desk. I hovered outside the locked door to the Publications area, waiting for an employee to show up and let me in. I was early. Unsure of the traffic, I had left home very early, not wanting to be late for my first day on the job at AOPA. It was April 4,1988.
