"I met Photographer Edwin Remsberg when I was editor/associate publisher for Frederick magazine in Maryland in the 1990s," said Senior Features Editor Julie Summers Walker. Remsberg is a University of Maryland grad and former Baltimore Sun photographer who has made a name for himself in agricultural photography, history, and local Maryland stories, having written and photographed several books (remsberg.photoshelter.com). "I started noticing his work recently on Facebook because it often features travel and aviation-two of my favorites-and was pleasantly gratified to see that he caught the flying bug." Remsberg bought and flies a Pietenpol Air Camper and bases it at Massey Aerodrome on Maryland's Eastern Shore, so he was the perfect choice to photograph "Happy Place," our photo essay on this grassroots airfield, which begins on p. 74.
