A California producer ot wire-bound books of charts designed for handy cockpit use shut down because of a preliminary step by the FAA. Owner Dan Johnston said EZFlightChart.com was forced to pull the plug on a service that had drawn about 2,000 subscribers and one-time buyers because the FAA's AeroNav program office cut the lead time on the release of digital charts from 17 days to one day prior to expiration.
