摘要

Accurate inventory records depend on transactions that are accurate, complete, and timely. Locked stockrooms and cycle-counting programs, begun in the 1970s, ushered in a new dedication to disciplines aimed at improving accuracy. In the 1980s, companies began to embrace Just-in-Time (JIT) principles. However, the need to process materials in ever-smaller quantities revealed an inherent conflict between traditional inventory transaction requirements and the new realities of the JIT environment.
