Pursuing growth opportunities through a hypothesis-driven approach, particularly when attempting to use existing corporate assets, can be a relatively low-cost/low-risk way for a company to increase the value it returns to shareholders. I'd like to provide some experience-based advice to companies that have already started implementing the concept. Recognizing the need to grow and making it a corporate priority are the necessary first steps to actually achieving growth. Important next steps include agreeing on a process for achieving growth, adequately staffing the initiative, and actually beginning the process. As challenging as it can be to start the growth process, it's even more challenging to keep it going. Let's examine the critical elements of pursuing your growth initiatives.
