Paper Machine uptime is critical in today's business climate. A few hours of unscheduled downtime can cause disruptions in product shipment affecting overall profitability. This paper illustrates a procedure coined 'Disturbance Analysis'. The steps involve analysing motor speed and torque fluctuations to determine whether a Paper Machine instability problem is mechanical or electrical in nature.
