摘要

Remeshing is a fundamental problem in 3D modeling and computer aided design. Aiming at the shortcomings of the Euclidean distance measure in CVT method, we present a new topology preserving triangular remeshing algorithm. Two mesh quality measuring criteri-ons are used in the algorithm for determining a new site insertion step: (1) a new mesh error metric; (2) the topology condition of restricted Voronoi cell of each site. While new sites are inserted, a flooding-based remeshing algorithm is called to optimize the location of all sites and achieve the remeshing results iteratively. Experimental results show that the new algorithm can preserve the topology of input mesh efficiently and get remeshing results with good quality than CVT method with Euclidean distance measure.
