L''étude présentée propose des réformes organisationnelles pour faire face aux défis de la protection des eaux. Partant de la situation actuelle de l''assainissement en Suisse, les défis présents et futurs sont identifiés. Les déficits concernent surtout l''exécution des tâches au niveau communal. Quatre solutions peuvent être combinées: (1) regrouper les bassins versants de STEP: une «vision 2050» est présentée; (2) simplifier l''organisation; (3) pro-fessionnaliser l''exécution des tâches: une équipe de spécialistes est proposée; (4) régionaliser les infrastructures et les tâches: le fonctionnement d''une entité régionale est décrit. La mise en œuvre de ces solutions nécessite une stratégie cantonale claire et une volonté de réforme des communes concernées.%This study proposes organisational reforms to reply to the challenges relating to water ressources protection. Starting from the present situation of waste water management in Switzerland, present and future challenges are identified. Insufficiencies concern mainly tasks carried out at the level of the commune. It is possible to combine together four solutions: (1) group together the catchment areas of waste water treatment plans: a «vision 2050» is presented; (2) simplify the organisation; (3) execute tasks in a professional manner: the use of a team of specialists is proposed; (4) organise the infrastructure and the tasks on a regional basis: the operation of a regional entity is described. The implementation of these solutions calls for a clear cantonal strategy and also a willingness by the communes to apply the reforms.
