Isothermal Studies of Sorption of Acetic Acid from Waste Water Using Shed Needles from Pine Trees

摘要

The elimination of acetic acid from waste water by means of shed needles of Pinus (a conifer) was investigated in terms of original concentration, dosage form, and temperature and contact time. The rate constant of adsorption was determined, and the legitimacy of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms was checked. Thermodynamic parameters like free energy, enthalpy, entropy and partition factor were determined. Linear regression was the method used to calculate the Langmuir constants. The correlation factor was observed in the range 0.9506-0.9916. The energy of activation (E_a) was observed to be much less than -0.3749 J/mol.
