摘要

Abeno Harukas is a high-rise building of 300 meters, the tallest in Japan, with a department store, offices, hotel, museum and observatory above Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi Station. It can be regarded as a "high-rise cluster structure" due to the high degree of randomness and synergy created by a variety of usages and density. Abeno is the gateway to South Osaka. By concentrating a range of high-density urban activities in this area, an urban core with new characteristics has been created in Osaka. Also, by raising property values along the line through the railroad network, the energy of metropolitan Osaka may be maintained and improved at a time when the population is declining. A myriad of urban activities are connected at a high level through a lush public space that almost seems to be in the air. This generates a synergy through compound usages and creates an urban space where the unexpected awaits. Also, environmentally-friendly technologies that utilize compound usages, the height of the structure and the incorporation of natural elements, as well as innovative structural technology, contribute to the realization of a safe, secure and sustainable local community.
