Housing classrooms, this structure was rebuilt as part of Keio University's 150th anniversary celebrations. The design brief emphasized two key points-the facilities would cater to some 10,000 students at peak times and should serve the university for at least 50 years. Hence, the design has a simple and straightforward structural presence. A gentle approach lined with cherry blossom trees links campus to town; the approach avenue consisted of the large roof and louvers connect building and environs; the atrium where students pass to and fro as a junction.%創立150年記念事業として建替えられた講義棟である。最大時約1万名rnの学生が利用する施設であること，今後50年以上の使用を求められているrnことなどから，建物の骨格が表れたわかりやすく存在感のあるデザインをrn心がけた。
