The recent publicity over the design competition for the master planning of Barangaroo has told only one side of a complex story. An impression has been given of a winning team being denied their artistic rights to control the design evolution of Barangaroo; even worse, since winning the competition, the team have not been involved in the project. Furthermore, the publicity implies that the State Government has now proposed to add between 50,000-120,000 square metres of floor space as a direct attack on the winning scheme.
