摘要

Kununurra is a small town of 7,000 people located in the Kimberley Region, in the far north of Western Australia. Kununurra is very remote: Darwin (an 800km drive) and Broome (an 1,100km drive) are the closest major town cen-tres.The town of Kununurra was established near Lake Argyle, which was formed by the construction of a dam on the Ord River in the early 1960s. The town was designed and built after the Diversion Dam was constructed in 1963 and is one of the most recent townships to be developed in Australia.
