摘要

This paper reports the results of a study involving energy modeling of a typical K-8 school building equipped with differing heating and cooling systems including rooftop units, a ground source heat pump system, a water source heat pump system, and a central heating and cooling system with fan coil units. In this paper, the modeling results were developed, relevant first costs estimated, and economics of the varying systems compared. Economic results are provided for all four systems, including estimated operating costs, differences in first costs between the systems, and economic paybacks given current fuel prices.
