Cutting-edge product development of high-frequency chip inductors has been gathering momentum. Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and TDK Corporation have announced new products with high quality factor (Q) values in the 0402-size one after another. Q values indicate the performance of inductors. With the trend of smartphones and other mobile devices to have better functionalities, space-savings have emerged as a challenge. High-frequency inductors that satisfy both higher performance and smaller dimensions have been strongly required. The manufacturers have responded to these demands by bringing out these new products.
