1. Real consumer spending in the Philippines will record an uptick in 2019, supported by a muted inflationary environment, stronglabour market and stable currency. This uptick will benefit non-essential spending of which restaurant and hotels accounts forthe largest share.2. A growing dining-out culture and growth in disposable incomes will drive spending on this category and several food servicescompanies are already looking to capture a greater share of the market.3. We highlight that in terms of development strategies foodservice companies will need to have a food home delivery option, asconsumer demand for convenience rises.
