Indian spirits producer United Spirits witnessed weak profitabilitynin its latest fiscal year as higher domestic taxes, higher operating andninterest costs, and foreign exchange losses weighed on its marginngrowth. The sharp decline in United Spirits’ overall profitability hasnhurt investor confidence, and its share price fell by more than 6%nafter the release of its financial results. Given continued domesticndemand uncertainties in India, we hold a cautious outlook on UnitednSpirits’ near-term profitability and will continue to closely monitornthe company’s financial results to assess the potential risks that couldnderail its profit growth.
